Add Remove Programs in Windows XP has some secret setting so that we can hide option [Remove], [Repair] and [Change]? If our goal for the program that we put not removed by others, then the more efficient way is to remove the program name from the Add/Remove Programs. This can be done by removing certain data in regedit. If you do not want the name of the program appears, because there may be features to repair or change it, then this trick might be useful. Here are the steps to hide these options:
- Run Regedit
- Find to subkey HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall.
- Discover the key where there is a name of the program you want to set this option. The key can be CLSID or the name directly. Name of the program you can see on data available in the Display Name of each key.
- After you find the searched key, create a DWORD named NoRemove.
- Double click on data, then input the value to 1.
Try running Add/Remove Programs and highlight name of the program that you set earlier. Option [Remove] is gone. You can also hide the option [Repair] and [Change] the same steps, only the names are different data. To repair, use name no repair, whereas NoModify to use the name change. To return to the original, you can simply change the value to 0 or delete it.
Hope this Useful.. Thank's
